Selections

We have over 300,000 opt in email addresses of business in the UK.  You can select companies by:

• What the company does (electrical engineering, solicitor, wholesaler, car dealer etc). For more details of business types please click here.
• Where the company is in the UK (postcode or county)
• How many people are employed.

You can also select people by their job role, such as:

• Main decision maker
• People involved in IT
• People involved in sales and marketing

These job roles are not always specific job titles. For example, the people involved in sales and marketing are not always Sales Directors or Marketing Managers - but this reflects what they do.   If you wish to use the "job role" selection and we don't have that specific title we'll endeavour to come back with something that is close to your wish.

You can combine the selections

But do remember that the more you selection, the lower the numbers get.  So, for example you could say, I want the people involved in IT in companies with over 500 staff in the Publishing industry in Hampshire.   I haven't checked, but I suspect we might get one or two.

You can help guide yourself on likely outcomes if you remember these rules:

• Each average English county has about 1% of the UK in it.  So out of 350,000 email addresses we might have 35,000 in (say) Northamptonshire.
• Only 5% of all the active companies in the UK have over 20 people in them - so if you specify over 20 staff you are down to a universe of 15,000 to 20,000 addresses.
• There are 4,000 or so main categories of business types in the UK.  Some, like GP surgeries, accountants, petrol stations,  have fairly large numbers - certainly over 10,000.   But many others are tiny - no more than a few hundred

So you can see, if you combine your search you can end up with tiny numbers.

But I only want these very specific companies and people

In this case what we often suggest is that we work together on researching a specific list for you.  Rather than spending money buying in a list which is not right, if your target is a list of say 200 people in the oil industry, it is possible to get that list by starting from scratch and doing the research.  It can be complex - because you will have to offer an inducement to these people to get them to sign up to your opt in and to read your emails - but it is possible.
